My Journey: From Video Editing to Programming

Out of pure curiosity, I started messing around with video editing at the age of twelve, marking the beginning of my journey into the creative world. The way that basic footage could be turned into something cinematic with the correct edits, transitions, and effects captivated me at the time.

I made the decision to advance and start making money using my abilities by the time I turned fifteen. I thought I could quickly start earning money doing what I loved, so I joined Fiverr. But the first year was anything but simple. I encountered rejections, had trouble acquiring my initial clients, and frequently felt stuck.

After that challenging first year, I finally started getting consistent orders and making money from video editing. The experience taught me one of the most valuable lessons:
Knowing your craft is one thing, but knowing how to sell yourself is another.

I gained knowledge about branding, negotiating, marketing, and how to showcase my abilities to potential customers through Fiverr. This information became as crucial as the technical aspects of video editing.

Even though I work as a programmer now, I still have a strong interest in marketing and video production. I still enjoy working on projects for pleasure, freelancing, or personal branding, and it continues to be my creative outlet and passion.

What Comes Next?

There’s a lot more to discuss, from the struggles I faced to the exact steps I took to go from earning $5 per video to $500 per video. That’s why I’m working on a free ebook about how to start selling yourself on Fiverr— the real challenges, what works, and what doesn’t.

Keep an eye out! I’ll be sharing more shortly if you’re interested. 😉
